Carl SingerDoctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr Carl Singer has owned Noble Veterinary Clinic since the spring of 2005. Dr. Singer not only employs his managing skills but also utilizes decades of veterinary medical expertise. His undergraduate degree is from University of California, Berkeley where he met his wife Nancy in the dorms. He later received his veterinary degree from University of California, Davis. Dr. Singer first worked at a corporate veterinary practice that included five other doctors with a special focus on rabbit care. He has learned and enjoys working with all exotic species, especially birds. The local shelter had a relationship with this hospital so Dr. Singer developed a passion for working with less fortunate patients. Today Dr. Singer juggles the many tasks of having a family with two very tall sons and quite a few cats (dog allergies in the family preclude having some of his own), enjoying personal hobbies, practicing veterinary medicine, and owning a veterinary clinic. Dr Singer has been the managing licensee for the Hayward, Alameda, and Oakland Animal Shelters. He has held positions in statewide organized medicine on the legislative committee. He serves as the first delegate of the formative shelter association to the California Veterinary Medical Association where he discusses and votes on policies that affect the veterinary community. Dr Singer mentors senior veterinary students through a shelter externship. Students come from all over the world to learn from him. He appreciates teaching and that he learns much from them as well. Western U vet school in Southern California has used Dr Singer to interview candidates for vet school as well as review their applications. Ultimately a very satisfying pursuit mixed in with his regular work. As a premise inspector for the Veterinary Medical Board, Dr. Singer learned the standards for practice and helped others to maintain them. As such, he himself has high regard for practicing at the highest possible level. Managing Noble Veterinary Clinic has opened a new chapter in Dr. Singer’s life that is both challenging and rewarding. “[My] family sees me less but they know I am happier.” The rewards he has experienced at Noble Veterinary Clinic are countless and include the inspiration he receives from his clients. “The patrons of NVC continue to amaze me with their dedication to their pets in the face of dramatic medical, financial and emotional issues. The animals receive the kind of care I would want for my own pets and I'm able to creatively work with all species, rescued animals and the woebegone from the streets.” Dr. Singer collaborates all of his dexterities in providing excellent service to the community.
